Day1

Onboarding + theory (week 1)

Theory deep-dive, MySSI app + Pro tools, ethics, dive ops planning. Mapping project starts.
Day2

Skill circuit + rescue refresh (week 2)

24 core skills demonstrated to instructor-quality standard. Rescue scenario refresh. Pool sessions.
Day3

Real customer dives + assists (weeks 2–3)

Lead certified-diver groups under instructor oversight. Assist Open Water students on confined and ocean dives.
Day4

Final exams + Pro paperwork (week 4)

Theory final, practical final, mapping project sign-off. SSI Pro membership registered, digital cert issued.

Frequently asked questions

Prerequisite?

SSI Advanced Open Water + Diver Stress & Rescue + React Right + 40 logged dives + Medical clearance. Age 18+.

How long does it really take?

Most candidates do 4 weeks intensively, OR 8–12 weeks part-time. The 60-dive minimum is the constraint, you can't shortcut it.

Can I work after this?

Yes, Divemaster is a paying Pro rating. Work at dive centres, lead trips, assist courses. Plenty of DMs travel and work seasonally around the world.

What about insurance?

DAN Pro membership (₹15,000/yr-ish) covers liability for Pro work. Not optional once you're working.

What's the typical income for a Divemaster?

In India: ₹25K–60K/month + tips at dive centres. SE Asia: $700–1,500/month + accommodation. Europe (summer season): €1,500–2,500/month. Most DMs travel-work seasonally.

Is the SSI Divemaster Bundle a better deal?

Yes, the Bundle (₹26,550 SRP) includes Stress & Rescue + React Right + Deep + Navigation + Night/Limited Vis + Computer Diving + Science of Diving as part of the package. If you don't have any prereqs yet, the Bundle saves significantly. Ask us.

What's the next step after Divemaster?

Open Water Instructor (next 6–8 weeks of training, including the IDC). After that, Specialty Instructor + Master Instructor + Instructor Trainer. Most DMs gain 6–12 months of work experience before progressing.

Can I do this part-time alongside a job?

Yes, split across weekends + 2 weeks of intensive ocean training. Total elapsed time 8–16 weeks. The 60-dive log is what stretches it out.
