Course overview

Take your diving deeper and broader with the PADI Advanced Open Water course on Gili Trawangan, building on Open Water with five adventure dives to a maximum of 30 metres. You complete mandatory Deep and Underwater Navigation dives plus three more of your choice on the island's turtle reefs and gentle drifts, certifying you for sites worldwide.

What you’ll learn

• Plan and execute dives to 30 metres on the Deep adventure dive
• Navigate underwater using a compass and natural references
• Try adventure dives such as drift, night, wreck or peak performance buoyancy
• Improve buoyancy, trim and air consumption on Gili reefs
• Build confidence and dive-planning skills across varied sites

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 15 (12 for Junior Advanced Open Water)
• PADI Open Water Diver or equivalent
• Basic swimming ability and comfort in open water
• Diver medical clearance where required

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Deep & Navigation dives

   Complete the two mandatory adventure dives, descending toward 30m and practising compass navigation on Gili reef sites.
2. Day2
   Elective adventures & certification

   Three elective adventure dives such as drift along Gili's currents or peak performance buoyancy at Turtle Heaven, then certification.
