Build on your certification with the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver in north-male-atoll, where the atoll's big-fish channels and drift sites make a fine classroom for advancing your skills. Across five adventure dives you log a deep dive and an underwater-navigation dive plus three electives. You finish qualified to dive to 30 metres and ready for drift and channel diving with reef sharks and rays.
PADI Advanced Open Water has no exam. It is a performance-based course of five adventure dives that extends your depth limit to 30 metres and counts toward the Rescue Diver and pro pathway.
Adventure dives make use of north-male-atoll's well-known channels and drop-offs, where moderate currents draw reef sharks, eagle rays and schooling fish. The diving season peaks from November to April, when visibility is best across the atoll's channels and reefs. Water stays warm at 27-30°C year-round, with moderate currents on the channel sites.
