The PADI basic diver path in Cancún and Cozumel, delivered as PADI Scuba Diver, certifies you to dive to 12 metres under a guide's supervision. It works well when you are short on holiday time. You will train on calm Mesoamerican reefs before exploring with a professional at your side.
PADI Scuba Diver is a streamlined subset of Open Water using eLearning / PADI Touch. You can later upgrade to full Open Water by completing the remaining modules and dives.
Basic-diver training uses Cozumel's sheltered Paradise and Cielo reefs and Cancún's Manchones Reef and shallow Underwater Museum, all under 12 m with light current. These easy sites let new divers focus on building core skills.
