The PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy specialty in Rasdhoo Atoll refines the single skill that improves every dive. The atoll's clean reefs and shark-rich drifts reward divers who hover well. You fine-tune weighting, trim and breath control on the local reefs, and you finish gliding closer to the coral with less effort, less air and far less impact.
The PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy specialty includes two dives and counts toward the Master Scuba Diver rating. It is one of the most recommended specialties because the skills carry over to every dive you make.
Buoyancy training works best on Rasdhoo's gentle, coral-rich reef sites such as Three Palm and Veligandu East, where good visibility lets you see your trim and protect the reef. Hover control learned here pays off directly on the atoll's drift and channel dives, with the calmest conditions from November to April.
