The PADI Deep Diver specialty in Cozumel takes you down the walls of Palancar and Santa Rosa, which drop well past the usual recreational depths into deep blue water. You will learn to plan and manage dives to 40 metres while the reef shelf gives way to dramatic drop-offs and pelagic visitors.
PADI Deep Diver uses eLearning, certifies you to the 40 m recreational limit, and counts toward Master Scuba Diver. It is issued as a PADI specialty card.
Cozumel's wall sites suit deep training well. Santa Rosa Wall and Palancar Reef drop steeply from around 20 m into the blue, with strong visibility and gentle-to-moderate drift. Eagle rays, larger groupers and turtles use these deeper ledges.
