Coron's deepest wrecks lie beyond standard recreational depth, and the PADI Deep Diver specialty opens them up by training you to dive safely to 40 metres. Across four dives on sites such as the Akitsushima and the deeper sections of the Olympia Maru in warm 27-29C water, you learn deep-dive planning, gas management and how to handle the effects of depth. You finish qualified for dives to 40m.
The PADI Deep Diver specialty extends your depth limit to 40 metres, counts toward the Master Scuba Diver rating, and pairs well with the Wreck and Nitrox specialties for Coron's deep ships. Enriched air is recommended to extend bottom time at depth.
Coron's deeper wrecks, including the Akitsushima at around 36m and the lower decks of the cargo ships, sit within the 40m recreational limit. They make good deep-training terrain in warm 27-29C water during the calm November-to-May season.
