Course overview

Extend your range to the deeper reefs, walls and wrecks of the Florida Keys with the PADI Deep Diver specialty in Key Largo. Diving sites that drop toward 40 metres, you learn to plan deep dives, manage gas and time, and recognise and respond to narcosis. You finish certified to dive to the recreational limit and reach Key Largo's deeper attractions, including the lower decks of the Spiegel Grove.

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 15
• PADI Adventure Diver or Advanced Open Water Diver (or equivalent)
• Comfortable buoyancy and air consumption
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Theory and first deep dives

   Deep-diving knowledge development, then dives building depth progressively on a Key Largo deep reef or wall.
2. Day2
   Depth and narcosis management

   Reach toward 40 metres with narcosis and gas-management exercises on a deeper wreck or wall, then certify.
