The PADI Deep Diver specialty in Papua New Guinea takes you safely beyond 18 m toward the recreational limit of 40 m, exploring the deeper seamount walls and wreck sites of the region. On Kimbe Bay's coral slopes and a WWII-era wreck resting in deeper water, you learn to plan deep dives, manage gas and recognise the effects of depth. The certification extends your range to many of Papua New Guinea's most dramatic dive sites.
The PADI Deep Diver specialty certifies you to plan and conduct dives to 40 m, the recreational depth limit, and counts toward the Master Scuba Diver rating. One of its dives can credit as an Adventure Dive toward Advanced Open Water.
Papua New Guinea's seamounts rise from very deep water, giving steep coral walls for deep training, while a deeper WWII wreck around 40 m offers a memorable target. Warm 27-30°C water and the calm dry-season conditions from May to October make depth work comfortable.
