Course overview

Extend your range to recreational depth with the PADI Deep Diver specialty in the Seychelles, where granite walls and pinnacles fall steeply into the Indian Ocean. Over four dives on sites such as Brissaire Rock and the deeper Shark Bank, you learn to plan and manage dives to a maximum of 40 metres while watching for whale sharks, eagle rays and other pelagics. You finish certified to dive to recreational depth limits.

What you’ll learn

• Plan and execute dives to recreational depths down to 40 metres
• Manage gas supply, no-decompression limits and safety stops
• Recognise and respond to nitrogen narcosis
• Use redundant air sources and contingency procedures
• Monitor colour and light change with depth
• Apply buddy procedures and deep-dive safety planning

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 15
• PADI Adventure Diver or Advanced Open Water (or qualifying certification)
• Good buoyancy and air-consumption control
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician
• Comfort with deeper, blue-water diving

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Deep fundamentals

   Theory and two dives building toward 30 metres on Mahe's walls, practising narcosis awareness and gas planning.
2. Day2
   To recreational limit

   Two deeper dives toward 40 metres on sites such as Brissaire Rock or Shark Bank, then certify.
