Extend your range to recreational depth with the PADI Deep Diver specialty in the Seychelles, where granite walls and pinnacles fall steeply into the Indian Ocean. Over four dives on sites such as Brissaire Rock and the deeper Shark Bank, you learn to plan and manage dives to a maximum of 40 metres while watching for whale sharks, eagle rays and other pelagics. You finish certified to dive to recreational depth limits.
PADI Deep Diver certifies you to the recreational depth limit of 40 metres and concentrates on planning and gas management, not decompression diving. The specialty counts toward the PADI Master Scuba Diver rating.
Deep training uses Mahe's outer granite pinnacles and walls, including Brissaire Rock and the Shark Bank sites, where the slopes carry you to recreational depth in 26-30C water. The April-May and September-November windows bring the clearest water and the best chance of whale sharks and rays.
