The PADI Deep Diver specialty extends your range to the recreational limit of 40 metres, opening up the deeper rocky reefs and pinnacles around Trincomalee. Over four dives off Nilaveli and the sites near Swami Rock, you learn to plan deep dives, manage gas and recognise narcosis, often over sandy and rocky bottoms where schools of barracuda, trevally and rays gather.
PADI Deep Diver counts toward the Master Scuba Diver rating and pairs well with Enriched Air (Nitrox) for safer time at depth. It extends your limit to the recreational maximum of 40 metres.
Deep training uses the rocky reefs and pinnacles around Trincomalee and Swami Rock, where the bottom drops away over sand and rock and barracuda, trevally and rays gather. It is best dived during the calm May-to-September window, with April and October still diveable on either side.
