The PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience lets you try breathing underwater for the first time in Rasdhoo Atoll, a good place to start in warm, clear water that often reaches 25 metres of visibility. Under the direct supervision of a PADI professional you learn a few simple skills in shallow water, then explore a gentle reef. No experience or prior certification is needed.
PADI Discover Scuba Diving is an introductory experience, not a certification. Skills you complete can be credited toward the PADI Open Water Diver course if you decide to continue your training.
First-time dives use the sheltered, shallow reefs near the island, such as Veligandu East and Three Palm, where calm water, gentle profiles and visibility above 25 metres make a relaxed introduction. Even on this first dive you may meet reef fish and turtles, with the calmest conditions from November to April.
