Course overview

Become a PADI Divemaster in the Solomon Islands and earn your first professional rating in one of the Pacific's most remarkable dive regions, where healthy reefs sit beside the WWII wreck graveyard of Iron Bottom Sound. Training across the Guadalcanal and Munda regions has you guiding certified divers, supervising training and building real leadership hours in warm 27-30°C water. You finish ready to work as a dive professional and to continue toward instructor level.

What you’ll learn

• Guide certified divers safely on reef and wreck sites
• Demonstrate all 24 dive skills to a professional, repeatable standard
• Conduct dive briefings, mapping exercises and emergency planning
• Assist an instructor with students in confined and open water
• Run scuba refreshers, skin-diving sessions and supervised programmes
• Apply dive theory, physics and physiology at a professional level

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 18
• PADI Advanced Open Water Diver (or qualifying certification)
• PADI Rescue Diver certification
• Emergency First Response (primary and secondary care) within 24 months
• At least 40 logged dives to begin and 60 to certify
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Orientation & theory

   Programme briefing, dive-theory study and the Divemaster knowledge sections, with waterskills and stamina assessments.
2. Day2
   Skill demonstration

   Polish the 24 demonstration-quality skills in the calm shallows, then apply them on reef sites near Munda.
3. Day3
   Practical workshops

   Dive-site mapping, rescue assessment and emergency-management exercises along the Guadalcanal coast.
4. Day4
   Internship & assessment

   Guide certified divers and assist with students on reef and Iron Bottom Sound wreck sites, then complete final exams and certification.
