Learn to move with the current on the Florida Keys reefs with the PADI Drift Diver specialty in Key Largo. You develop the techniques for safe, relaxed drift dives, including buoyancy control, current awareness and the use of floats and signalling reels. You finish able to enjoy the gliding drift dives that make Key Largo's outer reefs so exciting.

The PADI Drift Diver pathway

The PADI Drift Diver specialty counts toward the Master Scuba Diver rating and sharpens buoyancy, navigation and surface-marker skills that transfer to all your diving. Drift trips are a regular part of Key Largo charter schedules.

Where you'll dive in Key Largo

Key Largo's outer reefs and channels carry gentle currents suited to learning the drift, letting you move over coral while the reef passes beneath you. Warm, calm surface conditions through the April-to-October season make drift training comfortable and fun.
