Course overview

The PADI Emergency First Response course in Muscat builds the CPR and first-aid confidence to act in an emergency, in or out of the water. It is a non-diving classroom programme that satisfies the emergency-care prerequisite for PADI Rescue Diver and Divemaster, which makes it a natural pairing with the dive training many travellers do alongside Oman's Daymaniyat boat trips. You finish with a recognised primary and secondary care certification.

What you’ll learn

• Perform adult CPR and rescue breathing to current guidelines
• Manage a non-breathing patient and use an AED
• Control serious bleeding and treat for shock
• Conduct illness and injury assessments (secondary care)
• Apply bandaging and splinting for common injuries
• Recognise when and how to activate the emergency response system

Prerequisites

• No prior experience or certification required
• Open to non-divers and divers alike
• No minimum age for participation; certification recommended for those able to perform the skills
• No swimming or medical clearance required for this classroom course
