Course overview

Learn life-saving CPR and first-aid skills with the Emergency First Response (Primary & Secondary Care) course in north-male-atoll. This non-diving programme prepares you to respond to medical emergencies on land or at the dive site, and it satisfies the first-aid prerequisite for the Rescue Diver and professional ratings.

What you’ll learn

• Perform primary care: CPR and rescue breathing
• Deliver secondary care: first aid for injury and illness
• Conduct scene assessment and barrier use
• Manage shock, bleeding and spinal-injury situations
• Use an AED and build a basic first-aid kit

Prerequisites

• No prior experience or certification required
• Open to all levels and non-divers
• No minimum dive count or in-water component

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Course orientation

   Meet your instructor, review the participant manual and complete the knowledge review before hands-on practice.
2. Day2
   Primary care

   Learn and practise CPR, rescue breathing and AED use on a manikin.
3. Day3
   Secondary care & scenarios

   Cover first aid for injury and illness, then run practice scenarios and complete the assessment.
