Course overview

Build the confidence to act in an emergency with the PADI Emergency First Response course in Port Blair, a land-based programme that teaches CPR and first aid to international guidelines. It is open to everyone, divers and non-divers alike, and is the required first-aid foundation for the PADI Rescue Diver and Divemaster ratings before you head into Andaman waters. You leave able to deliver primary and secondary care.

What you’ll learn

• Perform CPR and rescue breathing on an adult
• Provide primary care for life-threatening emergencies
• Deliver secondary care for injuries and illnesses
• Use barriers to reduce disease-transmission risk
• Conduct illness and injury assessments
• Apply bandaging and splinting basics

• No prior experience or certification required
• No minimum age for participation; certification typically issued from age 10 upward
• Suitable for divers and non-divers alike
• Willingness to practise hands-on CPR and first-aid skills

   Primary & secondary care

   Complete the classroom and hands-on sessions for CPR and first aid, practise on manikins and finish with scenario assessments to earn certification.
