The PADI Enriched Air (Nitrox) Diver specialty is largely a knowledge-development course and can be completed with or without training dives. It certifies you to dive blends up to 40 percent oxygen and counts toward the PADI Master Scuba Diver rating.
Enriched air is especially useful for repetitive diving on the Kovalam reef in the Arabian Sea during the busy post-monsoon season, roughly October to March, when warm 27-30°C water and good visibility encourage multiple dives a day.
