Move from leading dives to teaching them with the PADI Instructor Development Course on Thailand's Phi Phi Islands, finishing ready to sit the PADI Instructor Examination and certify your own divers. The sheltered, warm-water bays of the Phi Phi marine park have limestone walls and reefs that drop to around 30 metres, so candidates get calm, varied conditions to rehearse confined- and open-water teaching presentations. You finish as a teaching member of the world's largest dive organisation.
The PADI IDC trains and assesses you against PADI standards, then prepares you for the Instructor Examination, which is run independently by a PADI Examiner. Pass the IE and you become a renewable teaching member of PADI with access to professional insurance and the worldwide PADI jobs network.
Teaching workshops run in the sheltered bays and reef walls of the Phi Phi marine park. Warm 27-30°C water and calm-to-moderate conditions during the November-to-April high season make this a forgiving place to rehearse teaching before you certify real students. The independent Instructor Examination is conducted separately by a PADI Examiner.
