Move from leading dives to teaching them with the PADI Instructor Development Course in Phuket, the Andaman Sea hub that feeds the Similan Islands. Warm 27-30C water and the sheltered, easy-access reefs off Racha Yai and Kata give instructor candidates a forgiving, repeatable classroom to rehearse teaching presentations and learn the standards before the independent Instructor Examination. You finish ready to certify divers of your own and join the global community of PADI professionals.
The PADI IDC trains and assesses you against PADI standards, then prepares you for the Instructor Examination, which is run independently by a PADI Examiner. On passing the IE you become a teaching member of PADI with a renewable instructor certification, access to professional insurance and the global PADI jobs network.
Teaching workshops use Phuket's calm, easy-access reefs at Racha Yai and Kata. The November-to-April dry season brings settled seas and 27-30C water, well suited to low-stress confined- and open-water teaching practice. The independent Instructor Examination is conducted separately by a PADI Examiner at a designated location.
