Course overview

Move from leading dives to teaching them with the PADI Instructor Development Course in Zanzibar, and finish ready to certify your own students once you pass the independent Instructor Examination. Candidates rehearse teaching presentations in the calm, protected coral gardens off Stone Town, then apply them on the reefs and walls around Mnemba Atoll and Tumbatu, where reliable July-to-February conditions make a forgiving classroom.

The PADI Instructor / IDC pathway

The PADI IDC trains and assesses you against PADI standards, then prepares you for the Instructor Examination, which a PADI Examiner conducts separately. Passing the IE makes you a teaching member of PADI with a renewable instructor rating and access to the worldwide PADI jobs network.

Where you'll dive in Zanzibar

Teaching workshops use the sheltered coral gardens near Stone Town for confined-water practice, then move to the reefs and walls of Mnemba Atoll and Tumbatu for open-water presentations. The calm July-to-February season gives stable, low-stress conditions for rehearsing with students.
