Sharpen your sense of direction with the PADI Underwater Navigator specialty in Djibouti, learning to find your way confidently around the reefs of the Gulf of Tadjoura. Across three dives you master natural navigation, precise compass use and distance estimation so you can lead a dive back to the boat or shore with certainty, a useful skill in this uncrowded, reef-rich corner of the Red Sea.
The PADI Underwater Navigator specialty counts toward the Master Scuba Diver rating, and one navigation dive can credit toward the Advanced Open Water course when completed first. It also strengthens the navigation skills required for Rescue and professional training.
Navigation dives use the reef and sand sites of the Gulf of Tadjoura. Defined reef contours, gentle currents and warm 24-30°C water through the October-to-February peak give clear references for practising natural and compass navigation.
