PADI Underwater Navigator is a recreational specialty that counts toward the PADI Master Scuba Diver rating and can also satisfy the Advanced Open Water navigation requirement.
Navigation dives use the sheltered, shallow bay off Tarkarli and Malvan, beside Sindhudurg Fort. The water is warm at 26-29C, and in the post-monsoon October-to-May season the Konkan coast stays calm and clear with good visibility, so it is easy to focus on compass work and reference points.
