See the reef after dark with the PADI Night Diver specialty in Djibouti, where the Gulf of Tadjoura changes character once the sun sets. Over three dives you learn light handling, night navigation and how to spot the nocturnal hunters and bioluminescence that come alive in these warm Red Sea waters, while building the confidence to dive safely in low light.
The PADI Night Diver specialty counts toward the Master Scuba Diver rating, and one night dive can credit toward the Advanced Open Water course when completed first. Torches and signalling equipment are typically provided by the dive centre.
Night dives are run at sheltered reef sites in the Gulf of Tadjoura that are dived by day first, so the layout is familiar. Calm conditions and warm 24-30°C water through the October-to-February peak make for comfortable after-dark diving.
