Course overview

Discover Oman's reefs after dark with the PADI Night Diver specialty in Muscat, where Bandar Khayran and the Daymaniyat sites come alive with hunting lionfish, octopus, cuttlefish and active reef life. Across three night dives you learn light handling, night navigation and communication so you can dive safely once the sun goes down. You certify as a PADI Night Diver.

What you’ll learn

• Plan and conduct dives safely in darkness
• Use primary and backup torches and light signals
• Navigate and maintain orientation at night
• Communicate with light signals and stay close to your buddy
• Identify nocturnal marine life and night behaviour
• Enter, exit and manage a dive site after dark

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 12
• PADI Open Water Diver (or equivalent)
• Comfortable with buoyancy and basic navigation
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   First night dives

   Cover night-diving theory and light use, then complete two dives after dark at a sheltered Muscat reef.
2. Day2
   Night navigation & certification

   Complete the final night dive focusing on navigation and nocturnal marine life, then certify.
