Course overview

See the reef after dark with the PADI Night Diver specialty in Raja Ampat, where nocturnal life changes familiar sites completely. On dives such as the house reef near Mansuar Island you meet hunting octopus, sleeping turtles and shy macro creatures. You learn the light, navigation and communication skills that make night diving safe, and this PADI dive course adds a new side to scuba diving here.

What you’ll learn

• Plan and conduct night dives safely
• Use primary and backup dive lights effectively
• Communicate with light signals at night
• Navigate and maintain buddy contact in the dark
• Identify nocturnal marine life and behaviours
• Manage entries, exits and orientation after dark

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 12
• PADI Open Water Diver or equivalent certification
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician
