The PADI Open Water Diver course in Bali certifies you to dive independently to 18m, and Tulamben's USAT Liberty wreck and Coral Garden reef make a strong training ground. Over three to four days you complete confined-water skills and four training dives on the warm, gentle black-sand coast, often seeing turtles and schooling fish on your first dives. You leave a certified diver ready to dive elsewhere in the world.
PADI Open Water uses eLearning or PADI Touch with a final exam, five confined sessions and four open-water dives. It certifies you to 18m worldwide with the PADI Open Water card and a Project AWARE conservation focus.
Confined sessions and the four training dives use Tulamben Bay's calm shallows, the coral-rich Coral Garden and the shallow end of the USAT Liberty (3-30m), where new divers commonly see turtles, clownfish and schools of reef fish.
