Course overview

Get fully certified with the PADI Open Water Diver course in Cancún and Cozumel, which qualifies you to dive to 18 metres anywhere in the world. Your final training dives might be on Cozumel's drift reefs or the Cancún Underwater Museum, surrounded by turtles, eagle rays and tropical fish.

What you’ll learn

• Assemble, check and use scuba equipment
• Master all core underwater skills
• Clear your mask and share air
• Plan dives with tables or a computer
• Dive independently with a buddy to 18 m

Prerequisites

• 10 years minimum
• Able to swim 200 m and float 10 minutes
• Reasonable health (medical questionnaire)

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Theory & pool

   Complete eLearning review and confined-water skill sessions.
2. Day2
   Open-water dives 1-2

   Apply skills on a calm Cozumel or Cancún reef.
3. Day3
   Open-water dives 3-4

   Finish certification dives on a drift reef or the Underwater Museum.
