The PADI Open Water Diver course at Netrani Island on Karnataka's Murdeshwar coast earns you the world's most recognised scuba certification. Across confined-water sessions and four open-water training dives on the island's reef, you learn to dive independently with a buddy to 18 metres. You finish as a certified PADI Open Water Diver, qualified to dive anywhere in the world.
PADI Open Water Diver requires five confined-water sessions, four open-water training dives and a final knowledge exam. It certifies you to dive to 18 metres and is recognised by dive centres worldwide as the standard entry-level certification.
Open-water training dives take place on the boat dives to Netrani Island from Murdeshwar. The reef runs from about 5 to 18 metres, the water is clear and reef fish are plentiful, which makes an engaging classroom for new divers. The October-to-April season has the calmest seas and best visibility for training.
