Become a certified diver with the PADI Open Water Diver course at Nusa Penida, the world's most recognised entry-level scuba certification, qualifying you to dive to 18 metres anywhere. You learn the fundamentals in sheltered shallows before four training dives on Nusa Penida's calmer reefs, building the foundation to one day explore Manta Point and Crystal Bay. It is the start of a lifetime of diving.
PADI Open Water Diver certifies you for life to dive to 18 metres with a buddy and is accepted worldwide. The certification is the prerequisite for PADI Advanced Open Water and opens the door to specialty training.
Training dives use Nusa Penida's sheltered, lower-current reefs such as Sental and Sampalan, with Pura Ped giving gentle coral for skills practice. New divers stay away from the strong drifts of Manta Point and Crystal Bay. The dry season from April to November gives the calmest, clearest conditions.
