Become a certified diver with the PADI Open Water Diver course in Papua New Guinea, training in the warm, sheltered waters of Kimbe Bay. From confined-water skills in calm island shallows to four open-water dives on biodiverse reefs alive with anemonefish and turtles, you finish licensed to dive independently with a buddy to 18 m anywhere in the world. It is a great place to learn, surrounded by reefs that hold over half the world's coral species.
PADI Open Water Diver is the world's most recognised entry-level certification. It qualifies you to dive to 18 m with a buddy and is the prerequisite for the Advanced Open Water course and most specialties.
Training takes place in Kimbe Bay's sheltered island shallows and on accessible fringing reefs. Calm 27-30°C water, easy entries and turtle-rich coral make a good classroom, with the best conditions in the dry season from May to October.
