Earn your first scuba licence in the warm, clear water of the Gulf of Aqaba, where 20-30m visibility makes Sharm El Sheikh one of the easiest places to learn to dive. Training dives take place over the coral gardens of Near Garden and Ras Katy, where clownfish, butterflyfish and the occasional turtle pass by. With the eLearning theory done at home, most beginners are certified to 18m in three to four days.
PADI delivers the theory through its eLearning platform and the PADI Touch app, so you can study before you arrive. Certification includes a digital and physical PADI card plus Project AWARE conservation awareness.
Training runs on sheltered fringing reefs close to shore such as Near Garden and Ras Katy, where calm conditions and 0-18m profiles suit first-timers. The coral gardens hold clownfish, butterflyfish, angelfish and moray eels, and green turtles are a common sight in 24-28C water.
