The PADI Rescue Diver course makes you a more aware, capable diver who can prevent and manage problems in the water, taught on the warm reefs of Baa Atoll in the Maldives. Across scenario-based dives near Dharavandhoo you practise self-rescue, help tired or panicked divers and manage a diver emergency. Many divers call it the most rewarding course in the PADI system.
PADI Rescue Diver requires current CPR and first-aid training, usually the Emergency First Response course, which can be completed alongside. It is a prerequisite for the PADI Divemaster rating.
Rescue scenarios run on the sheltered house reefs and shallow lagoons around Dharavandhoo in Baa Atoll, where calm 27-30°C water gives a safe, realistic setting to practise surface tows and unresponsive-diver recoveries.
