Rescue exercises are staged in Havelock's calm, shallow bays and at gently sloping reef sites such as Lighthouse, which suit towing and search drills in 5-12 metre depths. The clear, warm Andaman water gives good surface visibility for managing simulated emergencies. Sheltered sites remain accessible even in the windier monsoon period.
