PADI Scuba Diver is a recognised certification that allows diving to 12 metres under the supervision of a PADI Divemaster, Assistant Instructor or Instructor. It is roughly half of the Open Water Diver course and upgrades to it directly.
Open-water dives use sheltered reef sites off George Town's western shoreline, where calm, clear and warm water keeps the training dives relaxed and well suited to newer divers.
