Course overview

Earn a recognised entry-level certification quickly with the PADI Scuba Diver course in Moalboal, Cebu, a subset of the Open Water course that works well if you are short on time. You complete the first sections of knowledge and confined-water training plus two open-water dives on the gentle Panagsama Beach house reef, and you qualify to dive to 12 metres under the supervision of a PADI professional. This dive course is also a strong stepping stone to full Open Water certification.

What you’ll learn

• Assemble, check and use basic scuba equipment
• Master essential underwater skills such as mask clearing and regulator recovery
• Achieve neutral buoyancy and controlled ascents/descents
• Communicate with hand signals and dive with a buddy and pro
• Plan a simple dive and monitor air and depth
• Dive safely to 12 metres with a PADI professional

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 10 (Junior Scuba Diver) / 15
• No prior certification required
• Adequate swimming ability and water comfort
• Complete a medical questionnaire; physician's clearance for some conditions

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Theory & confined water

   Complete the first knowledge and confined-water sections, practising core skills in shallow water off Panagsama Beach.
2. Day2
   Open-water dives

   Two open-water training dives on the gentle house reef, applying your skills among reef fish and turtles.
