Course overview

Short on time? The PADI Scuba Diver certification gets you diving in north-male-atoll faster, covering the first half of the Open Water course so you can dive to 12 metres under the supervision of a professional. You train in calm lagoons and on gentle house reefs, and you can upgrade to full Open Water Diver later.

What you’ll learn

• Set up and pre-dive check your scuba equipment
• Master essential skills like mask clearing and regulator recovery
• Achieve basic buoyancy control over the reef
• Communicate underwater with standard hand signals
• Dive safely to 12 metres with a professional

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 10
• Comfortable in water and able to swim
• No prior diving experience or certification required
• Completion of a diver medical questionnaire; physician sign-off if any condition applies

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Pre-dive theory

   Complete the knowledge development and dive-planning material before the in-water sessions, online or at the dive base.
2. Day2
   Theory & confined water

   Complete the first knowledge sections and practise core skills in a calm lagoon.
3. Day3
   Open-water dives

   Apply your skills on two supervised reef dives to 12 metres, then certify.
