Expand your skills with PADI specialty courses in north-male-atoll, choosing from options such as deep, wreck, nitrox, navigation, night and buoyancy to suit the atoll's channels, reefs and wrecks. Each specialty pairs focused theory with adventure dives to 18 metres and counts toward the PADI Master Scuba Diver rating.
Most PADI specialties require only Open Water Diver to start, while deep and wreck require Advanced-level experience. Completing five specialties plus Rescue Diver and 50 logged dives qualifies you for Master Scuba Diver, PADI's highest recreational rating.
Specialty dives draw on the variety of north-male-atoll: channels for drift and deep, reef walls for wreck and navigation, and calm house reefs for buoyancy and night training. The diving season peaks from November to April, when visibility is best across the atoll's channels and reefs. Water stays warm at 27-30°C year-round, with moderate currents on the channel sites.
