Learn to explore sunken history safely with the PADI Wreck Diver specialty in Ambon on the Banda Sea, a region steeped in WWII and spice-trade past. You apply survey, mapping and penetration-line techniques on the well-known Hesperus wreck and other local sites, finishing certified in responsible wreck diving.
PADI Wreck Diver is a specialty that counts toward the Master Scuba Diver rating and can credit an Adventure Dive toward Advanced Open Water. It covers limited penetration within the light zone; full technical wreck penetration requires separate technical training.
Training centres on Ambon's wreck sites, including the Hesperus, which lies in roughly 18-35m of warm 27-29°C water and hosts rich fish life that has colonised the hull. Wreck conditions can include moderate current, so dives are planned around the tides.
