Key Largo is one of the world's leading wreck-diving destinations, and the PADI Wreck Diver specialty puts you right on its famous artificial reefs. Diving structures such as the towering Spiegel Grove, you learn to survey wrecks, navigate around them safely and use lines and lights for limited penetration. You finish certified to explore shipwrecks with confidence and the proper techniques.
The PADI Wreck Diver specialty counts toward the Master Scuba Diver rating and can credit an Adventure Dive toward Advanced Open Water. Recreational training covers limited penetration only, keeping you within the daylight zone and clear exit lines.
The Florida Keys around Key Largo hold standout artificial reefs, led by the 510-foot Spiegel Grove resting in roughly 130 feet of water, with shallower portions suited to training. Warm, clear, calm water through the April-to-October season makes wreck work approachable.
