Course overview

Add wreck exploration to your logbook with the PADI Wreck Diver specialty in Raja Ampat, a region that combines coral reefs with scattered wartime wrecks resting on the seabed. You learn safe wreck-diving technique, survey and mapping, and the planning needed to explore these structures while you protect yourself and the fragile growth that has colonised them. This PADI dive course adds a new dimension to scuba diving here.

• Plan and execute safe wreck dives within recreational limits
• Survey and map a wreck to create a basic site sketch
• Use penetration lines and reels responsibly
• Manage hazards such as sharp edges, silt and entanglement
• Assess wreck stability and entry points

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 15
• PADI Adventure Diver or Advanced Open Water Diver
• Comfortable buoyancy control
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Theory and first dives

   Cover wreck planning and hazards, then complete your first two survey-focused wreck dives.
2. Day2
   Mapping and navigation

   Map a wreck, practise line use and finish the four required dives to certify.
