Reach the recreational depth limit with the SSI Deep Diving specialty in Hikkaduwa, where deeper reef ledges and wrecks draw divers below 18 metres on Sri Lanka's south coast. Over four dives you learn to plan and conduct deep dives safely to a maximum of 40 metres, managing gas, time and narcosis. You finish certified as an SSI Deep Diver, qualified within recreational deep limits.
The SSI Deep Diving specialty certifies you to the 40-metre recreational limit and counts toward the SSI Specialty Diver and Master Diver recognitions. Theory is completed digitally and certification is recorded in the SSI app.
Deep dives use Hikkaduwa's deeper reef ledges and wreck sites reaching into the 30-metre range. The calm, clear November-to-April season gives the steady conditions and visibility that deep diving requires.
