Course overview

The SSI Deep Diving specialty in Rasdhoo Atoll takes your diving deeper, training on the steep outer walls and channel drop-offs that fall away into blue water around this small island. You learn deep-dive planning, narcosis awareness and gas management on real Maldivian walls, and you finish certified to plan and conduct dives to recreational depth limits.

What you’ll learn

• Plan and conduct deep dives within recreational limits
• Manage air supply, no-decompression time and ascent rates
• Recognise and manage nitrogen narcosis
• Use redundant air and disciplined safety stops
• Account for light, colour and temperature changes at depth
• Maintain buoyancy and trim along a deep wall

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 15
• SSI Advanced Adventurer or equivalent certification
• Good buoyancy and air-consumption control
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Theory & first dives

   Deep-diving theory and planning, then dives building depth on an outer wall such as Bodu Gaa.
2. Day2
   Depth & certification

   Further dives toward the recreational maximum with narcosis and gas-management tasks, then digital certification.
