Take your first breaths underwater with the SSI Try Scuba experience on Maafushi, on the island's calm, shallow house reef in the South Malé Atoll. Guided one-on-one by an SSI professional, you practise a few basic skills then swim over coral and reef fish in warm 27-30°C water, with no experience or certification needed. It is the simplest way to find out whether diving is for you.
SSI Try Scuba is an introductory experience rather than a certification. Skills can be credited toward the SSI Open Water Diver course, and the SSI digital platform makes it easy to continue your training if you choose to.
Try Scuba runs on the sheltered island house reef, a shallow 0-12 metre site off Maafushi with calm 27-30°C water and easy entry, good for a first dive. The Maldives dives year-round, calmest from November to April.
