You learn the essentials in shallow water before a supervised dive at a sheltered Nusa reef full of tropical fish and coral, a gentle introduction to one of Indonesia's best-known diving regions. It is a good first step towards becoming a certified diver.
SSI Try Scuba is a guided introductory experience rather than a certification, but it can be credited towards the SSI Open Water Diver course and is recorded in your free SSI digital account if you continue.
Try Scuba dives stay on Nusa Penida's sheltered, low-current reefs like Sental and Sampalan, well away from the demanding water of Manta Point and Crystal Bay. Conditions are calmest from April to November.
