Experience scuba for the first time with the SSI Try Scuba experience in Tarkarli-Malvan. After a simple briefing and shallow-water practice you make a guided dive to around 12 metres in the calm, sheltered bay beside Sindhudurg Fort, one of India's most beginner-friendly places to breathe underwater.
SSI Try Scuba is an introductory experience, not a certification. It is conducted under direct instructor supervision and can credit toward the SSI Open Water Diver course if you continue.
First dives use the sheltered, shallow bay off Tarkarli and Malvan, beside Sindhudurg Fort. The water is calm, clear and warm at 26-29C, and in the post-monsoon October-to-May season the Konkan coast stays calm and clear with easy boat access, which suits beginners. Expect reef fish, the occasional octopus and other shallow-reef life.
