Course overview

Earn your SSI Divemaster rating in Fiji and start guiding certified divers across the soft-coral reefs of Beqa Lagoon and Pacific Harbour. Building on the SSI Dive Guide foundation, you develop the leadership, supervision and dive-theory skills to lead tours on sites such as The Bistro and Caesars and to assist instructors with students. It is the first step on the SSI professional pathway.

What you’ll learn

• Guide certified divers and deliver clear site briefings
• Assist an SSI Instructor during training programmes
• Plan and lead open-water dives on Fiji's reef sites
• Demonstrate core skills to professional standard
• Manage dive emergencies and run rescue scenarios
• Apply SSI dive theory, supervision and risk management

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 18
• SSI Advanced Adventurer / Advanced Open Water (or equivalent)
• SSI Diver Stress & Rescue (or equivalent rescue certification)
• Current first-aid, CPR and oxygen-provider training
• At least 40 logged dives (SSI Dive Guide is the entry rating; more dives for Divemaster)
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician

   Orientation & theory

   Programme orientation, SSI digital theory study and a water-skills baseline.
2. Day2
   Skill demonstration

   Refine core skills to professional standard and complete stamina exercises.
3. Day3
   Mapping & guiding

   Map and guide Beqa Lagoon sites such as Pearl Rock and Seven Sisters.
4. Day4
   Assisting students

   Support instructors supervising students in confined and open water.
5. Day5
   Rescue & scenarios

   Run dive-emergency and search scenarios to leadership standard.
6. Day6
   Assessment & certification

   Final assessments and digital registration as an SSI Divemaster.
