Course overview

Learn to handle dive and land emergencies with the SSI React Right course in Raja Ampat, an internationally recognised CPR, first-aid and AED program. In the remote Coral Triangle, dive sites can be far from medical facilities, so these response skills matter, and they are the prerequisite for the SSI Diver Stress & Rescue course. The program suits anyone planning scuba diving in the region.

What you’ll learn

• Perform CPR on a non-breathing patient
• Deliver first aid for common injuries and illnesses
• Conduct primary and secondary patient assessments
• Manage bleeding, shock and spinal-injury scenarios
• Use an automated external defibrillator
• Apply emergency oxygen awareness where relevant

Prerequisites

• No prior experience or certification required
• No minimum diving qualification
• Open to non-divers and all ages with guardian consent for minors
• Physically able to perform CPR compressions
