Move from dive guide to dive educator with the SSI Open Water Instructor programme in Coron, set among Palawan's WWII Japanese wreck fleet. You build and assess teaching presentations through SSI's digital training platform, then sit the Instructor Evaluation. Practice takes place in warm 27-29C water on sheltered sites such as the shallow Lusong Gunboat and the reefs around Coron Island. You graduate certified to teach SSI courses and bring new divers into the sport.
SSI delivers its instructor training through authorised training centres and a digital platform, then certifies you after a separate Instructor Evaluation conducted by an SSI Instructor Certifier. The SSI Open Water Instructor rating is recognised worldwide and lets you teach the full range of SSI entry-level programmes.
Coron's calmer wrecks and the reefs around Coron Island give you a forgiving environment for teaching workshops. Warm 27-29C water and settled November-to-May conditions suit rehearsing student supervision. The Instructor Evaluation is run independently by an SSI Instructor Certifier.
