Course overview

Become a teaching professional with the SSI Open Water Instructor programme in Cyprus, completing the Instructor Training Course and Instructor Evaluation you need to certify your own students. The warm, sheltered Mediterranean around Ayia Napa and Protaras, with calm bays like Green Bay and the Zenobia wreck close by, gives you a forgiving year-round setting to polish teaching presentations across SSI's digital training system.

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 18
• SSI Divemaster or a qualifying leadership rating from another recognised agency
• Certified diver for at least 6 months
• Logged dives meeting SSI professional requirements (commonly 100 dives for instructor)
• Current first-aid and CPR / SSI React Right provider rating
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Teaching foundations

   Orientation to SSI standards and the Total Diving System, then your first academic presentations.
2. Day2
   Confined-water workshops

   Practise demonstrating and teaching core skills in the calm shallows of Green Bay.
3. Day3
   Open-water teaching

   Deliver open-water teaching presentations and skill circuits on local reef sites.
4. Day4
   Standards and professionalism

   Cover SSI standards, risk management and the SSI digital business tools.
5. Day5
   Theory and rescue assessment

   Complete the dive-theory exams and rescue scenarios to instructor standard.
6. Day6
   Evaluation preparation

   Mock evaluations and presentation practice ahead of the SSI Instructor Evaluation.
